The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Knox Raiders as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Knox Raiders smashed bottom-ranked Wildcats in Wantirna South 69-46. Knox Raiders held Wildcats to an opponent 24.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 33.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Millie Ivanov stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners and forward Lucy Dawson (181-91) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Knox Raiders' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-93) responded with 13 points and forward Faith Probst (186-84, college: Fresno St.) scored 1 points and 11 rebounds. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Wildcats at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Wildcats will play next round against strong Hawks trying to get back on the winning streak. Knox Raiders will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Tigers at Melbourne.
