Regular Season Round 5: Waverley F. - Whittlesea 81-68

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Falcons (3-2) defeated bottom-ranked Whittlesea (0-7) in Mount Waverley 81-68 on Sunday. Falcons had a 30-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Kate Oliver (193-91, college: USC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Tegan Cunningham (185-88, college: Oklahoma St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Falcons' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Sharyn Hughes answered with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Ellie McLean added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Whittlesea. Falcons moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Whittlesea still closes the standings with seven games lost. Falcons will face Boomers (#6) in Bulleen in the next round. Whittlesea will play against Venom (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
