Regular Season Round 26: Miramar - Sant Nicolau 89-81

Very expected game when 7th ranked Sant Nicolau (8-9) was defeated on the road by first ranked Miramar (12-5) 89-81 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Miramar outrebounded Sant Nicolau 36-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sant Nicolau's players. Point guard Joan Reda (186-94) scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and center Carlos Bustamante (200-88) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Forward Marc Sobrepera (201-86) responded with 14 points and guard Guim Exposito (197-94) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Miramar have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Miramar maintains first position in Group C Perman with 12-5 record. Loser Sant Nicolau keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
