Regular Season Round 29: Valmontone - Vasto 79-66

Date: April 17, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Vasto (8-21) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Valmontone (10-19) 79-66 on Sunday. Valmontone made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Forward Stefano Cecchetti (193-86) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Serbian forward Marko Jovancic (195-93) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Vincenzo Di Pierro (175-79) added 11 points in the effort for Vasto. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vasto's coach Sergio Luise tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Valmontone moved-up to eleventh place in B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Vasto keeps the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Valmontone will face higher ranked Monteroni (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vasto will play against Bisceglie (#10) and hope to win that game.
