Regular Season Round 26: Cartagena - Benidorm 80-74

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Cartagena (4-19) beat at home 3rd ranked Benidorm (8-15) 80-74 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Cartagena dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Benidorm's 30. Forward Alberto Ballesta (202-95) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Victor Campos (198-86) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Cartagena players scored in double figures. Forward Javier Rodriguez (202-84) responded with 21 points and forward Francisco Solsona (198-89) scored 18 points. Cartagena maintains fifth position in Group E Desc with 4-19 record. Benidorm lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with 15 games lost. Cartagena will face league's second-placed L`Alfas in Alfas Del Pi in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Benidorm will play at home against Sagunto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
