Rather expected game in Broadmeadow where 5th ranked Bankstown Bruins (3-3) were defeated by second ranked Newcastle Hunters (5-1) 66-59 on Sunday. Newcastle Hunters outrebounded Bankstown Bruins 60-39 including a 22-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Russell Hinder (208-79, college: Augusta) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. Puerto Rican-American guard Justynn Hammond (196-87, college: Rogers St.) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Newcastle Hunters' coach let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest.
