Regular Season Round 56: Iwate Big Bulls - Shinshu BW 80-63

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Shinshu BW's (25-25) road loss to sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (29-21) 63-80 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Iwate Big Bulls. Shinshu BW was better in third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Shinshu BW to just 5 points in second quarter. Iwate Big Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 26. Iwate Big Bulls forced 19 Shinshu BW turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Alandise Harris (198-90, college: Arkansas) who added 23 points during the contest. Four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. American forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Shinshu BW's coach Koju Munakata rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Iwate Big Bulls moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Fukushima. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the seventh position with 25 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will face higher ranked Niigata Albirex (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shinshu BW will play against Saitama Broncos and hope to win that game.
