Regular Season Round 28: Real Madrid - FIATC Joventut 91-77

Very expected game when 12th ranked FIATC Joventut (11-17) was defeated on the road by third ranked Real Madrid (23-5) 91-77 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. FIATC Joventut managed to win third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Madrid looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. International Rudy Fernandez (197-85) fired 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) chipped in 10 points and 6 assists. Four Real Madrid players scored in double figures. Guinean-American forward Ousmane Drame (206-93, college: Quinnipiac) produced 17 points and center Nacho Llovet (201-91) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Madrid have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 23-5 record having just one point less than leader FC Barcelona. Loser FIATC Joventut dropped to the eleventh place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Andorra and Sevilla. Real Madrid will meet league's leader FC Barcelona on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. FIATC Joventut will play against Dominion BB (#8) and hope to secure a win.
