The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed Lady Braves' (1-2) home loss to leader Tornadoes (4-0) in Bendigo 59-77 on Sunday. Tornadoes dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Lady Braves' 20. They outrebounded Lady Braves 42-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. American forward Mikaela Ruef (190-90, college: Stanford) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Tayla Roberts (191-93) contributed with 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International guard Kelly Wilson (170-84) answered with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Tahnee Cannan added 11 points in the effort for Lady Braves. Tornadoes keep a position of League leader. Loser Lady Braves dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Tornadoes will face league's second-placed Lady Cobras in Kilsyth in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lady Braves will play at home against Lady Bandits (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
