Regular Season Round 30: Strasbourg - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 68-62

An interesting game for Strasbourg IG (21-9) which hosted in Strasbourg 4th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (19-11). Third ranked Strasbourg IG managed to get a 6-point victory 68-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Pau-Lacq-Orthez was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 27-12 third quarter run of Strasbourg IG. They outrebounded Pau-Lacq-Orthez 37-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international point guard Rodrigue Beaubois (185-88, agency: Comsport) scored 18 points to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Matt Howard (203-89, college: Butler) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Strasbourg IG's coach Vincent Collet allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Lance Harris (195-84, college: Kansas St.) with 28 points and his fellow American import point guard Michael Thompson (177-89, college: Northwestern) scored 13 points. Strasbourg IG moved-up to second place. Pau-Lacq-Orthez at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Gravelines. Strasbourg IG will play against Chalons-Reims (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
