Regular Season Round 22: Nogales - Agua Prieta 83-102

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Vaqueros (8-11) smashed on the road 7th ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (8-11) 102-83 on Tuesday. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) fired 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Willie Readus (201-92, college: Delta St.) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds and guard Brandon Provost (190-90, college: UTRGV) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Vaqueros and four Fuerza Guinda Nogales players scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales' coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Vaqueros have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Fuerza Guinda Nogales. Vaqueros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play again against Vaqueros (#8) in Agua Prieta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
