Regular Season Round 23: Navolato - Mazatlan 95-98

Eleventh-ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (5-15) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (13-9). The visitors from Mazatlan managed to secure only three-point victory 98-95. However their fans expected much easier game. Lobos UAD Mazatlan made 28-of-35 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Garra Canera de Navolato outrebounded Lobos UAD Mazatlan 38-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Garra Canera de Navolato helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jeff Ledbetter (190-88, college: Idaho) who led the winners and scored 19 points. Forward Daniel Onofre (196-90) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. American forward Ronald Selleaze (197-76, college: CSU Bakersfield) came up with 28 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Darious Clark (190-90, college: Slippery Rock) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Garra Canera de Navolato in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lobos UAD Mazatlan moved-up to third place. Garra Canera de Navolato at the other side stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Lobos UAD Mazatlan's next round opponent will be Trigueros de Ciudad Obregon (#8) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Garra Canera de Navolato will play against the league's leader Ostioneros de Guaymas and hope to win that game.
