There was a minor upset in Buenos Aires where 7th ranked Argentino (23-30) was defeated by ninth ranked Boca Juniors (23-30) 78-74. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Argentino won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for the former international swingman Adrian Boccia (195-82) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Fabian Ramirez (193-90) contributed with 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Boca Juniors players scored in double figures. Point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and center Jose Ignacio Alessio (203-87) added 23 points in the effort for Argentino. Boca Juniors moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Argentino. Boca Juniors' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Buenos Aires to the arena Lanus.
