Regular Season Round 29: St Chamond - Hyeres-Toulon 67-77

Leader Hyeres-Toulon delivered the twenty second victory. This time they beat 14th ranked Saint Chamond (12-17) 77-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saint Chamond. The game was mostly controlled by Hyeres-Toulon. Saint Chamond was better in third quarter 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hyeres-Toulon made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American swingman Chris Dowe (193-91, college: Bellarmine) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import point guard Maurice Acker (176-87, college: Marquette, agency: HMS) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. American guard Dustin Salisbery (193-84, college: Temple) answered with 22 points and Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (203-88) added 10 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Saint Chamond. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hyeres-Toulon maintains first place with 22-7 record. Newly promoted Saint Chamond keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Denain. Hyeres-Toulon will play against JL Bourg (#4) at home in the next round. Saint Chamond will play against Denain Voltaire (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
