Wasserburg overwhelmed Saarlouis to take 1-0 lead in DBBL Finals. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TV Saarlouis Royals won fourth quarter 14-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TSV 1880 Wasserburg forced 21 TV Saarlouis Royals turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Sheylani Peddy (170-88, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. French forward Soana Lucet (185-87, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four TSV 1880 Wasserburg players scored in double figures. TSV 1880 Wasserburg's coach Georg Eichler allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Latvian forward Sabine Niedola (184-91) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Corinne Costa (193, college: UCLA) added 6 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for TV Saarlouis Royals.
