Regular Season Round 57: Shinshu BW - Saitama Bron. 96-85

Everything went according to plan in Nagano where seventh ranked Shinshu BW (26-25) won against 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (5-46) 96-85 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Saitama Broncos was better in third quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Saitama Broncos 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Shinshu BW's coach Koju Munakata used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Seth Tarver (196-88, college: Oregon St.) who recorded 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Shinshu BW and five Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW maintains seventh place with 26-25 record. Loser Saitama Broncos keep the eleventh position with 46 games lost. Shinshu BW will face again Saitama Broncos (#11) at home in the next round.
