Regular Season Round 27: Tenerife Naut. - Alcazar 64-81

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Tenerife Naut. (15-9) lost to second ranked Alcazar (18-6) in Santa Cruz 64-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alcazar. Tenerife Naut. was better in third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alcazar dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Tenerife Naut.'s 20. It was a good game for forward Pablo Villarejo (194-92) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Juan Andres Garcia (199-79) answered with 10 points and 8 rebounds and guard Roberto de la Rosa (193-85) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Tenerife Naut.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Alcazar. They maintain second place in Group B with 18-6 record having just twenty three point less than leader San Fernando. Loser Tenerife Naut. dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Alcazar will face Real Madrid II (#6) at home in the next round. Tenerife Naut. will play against Estudiantes B in Madrid and hope to win that game.
