The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Niigata Albirex's (34-17) home victory over 5th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (29-22) 69-55 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-55. Niigata Albirex looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Wayne Arnold (193-84, college: Tennessee St.) who scored 26 points and 8 rebounds. Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Niigata Albirex's coach Kazuo Nakamura used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Patrick Sanders (201-85, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Niigata Albirex. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Akita NH and Shiga L-Stars. Loser Iwate Big Bulls keep the fifth position with 22 games lost. Niigata Albirex will face again Iwate Big Bulls (#5) at home in the next round.
