Regular Season Round 25: Guasave - Los Mochis 86-84

Seventh-ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (9-13) were very close to win a game against fifth ranked Frayles de Guasave (13-9) on Saturday. Frayles de Guasave managed to secure only two-point victory 86-84. However their fans expected easier game. Frayles de Guasave looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Jordan Williams (198, college: N.Texas) contributed with 29 points for the winners. Forward Travis Franklin (200-88, college: Colorado St.) answered with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Leon Gibson (206-91, college: Houston) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Pioneros Los Mochis. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Frayles de Guasave maintains fifth place with 13-9 record. Pioneros Los Mochis at the other side keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Nogales. Frayles de Guasave are looking forward to face league's second-placed Ostioneros de Guaymas at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pioneros Los Mochis will play against Tijuana Zonkeys (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
