There was no surprise when 12th ranked Valmontone (10-20) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Monteroni (14-16) 89-84 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Monteroni looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Alessandro Poti scored 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Manuele Mocavero (203-80) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Five Monteroni players scored in double figures. Monteroni's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Antonio De Fabritiis (189-90) with 29 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Luca Pongetti (201-90) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Monteroni maintains eighth position in B with 14-16 record, which they share with Padova. Newly promoted Valmontone dropped to the eleventh place with 20 games lost.
