Rather expected game when 15th ranked Moncalieri (7-23) was crushed on the road by twelfth ranked Volpino (11-19) 86-66 on Saturday. Volpino dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Moncalieri's 30. They outrebounded Moncalieri 44-22 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Michele Squeo (206-89) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Giovanni Rugolo (196-81) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Volpino players scored in double figures. Volpino's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was guard Antonio Fabrizio Smorto (192-95) with 13 points and swingman Leone Gioria (194-84) scored 13 points. Volpino moved-up to tenth place in B, which they share with Desio and Fiorentina. Newly promoted Moncalieri keeps the fifteenth position with 23 games lost.
