Finals Game 1: Dynamo-NPU - Interkhim 68-98

Interkhim cruised past Dynamo-NPU to secure 1-0 lead in the Finals. The game was mostly controlled by Interkhim. Dynamo-NPU was better in fourth quarter 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Interkhim forced 20 Dynamo-NPU turnovers and outrebounded them 163-111 including a 61-40 advantage in offensive rebounds. Interkhim players were unselfish on offense dishing 48 assists comparing to just 24 passes made by Dynamo-NPU's players. Dynamo-NPU was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. International forward Kateryna Kovalyova (185-89) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Arina Bilocerkivska (170-89) chipped in 29 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Interkhim's coach Iryna Shchipakina felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international swingman Iryna Tsekova (177-78) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Russian forward Elena Koshurina (182-85) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Dynamo-NPU players scored in double figures.
