Regular Season Round 25: Arras - Landes 53-81

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Arras (4-21) was crushed at home by sixth ranked Basket Landes (16-9) 81-53 on Saturday. The game without a history. Basket Landes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Basket Landes outrebounded Arras 34-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Basket Landes looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Arras' players. American-Dominican Carmen Guzman (172-85, college: UAB, agency: Merit Management Group) fired 25 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. International guard Alexia Plagnard (172-90) chipped in 11 points and 7 assists. Four Basket Landes players scored in double figures. Forward Jenny Fouasseau (179-92) produced 18 points and American swingman Brooque Williams (175-89, college: California, PA, agency: Two Points) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Basket Landes maintains sixth place with 16-9 record. Arras lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 21 games lost. Basket Landes will face Mondeville (#9) on the road in the next round. Arras will play against the league's second-placed Bourges (#2) and hope to win that game.
