No shocking result in a game when third ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (19-6) defeated on the road 8th ranked Nantes Reze (10-15) 77-68 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nantes Reze won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international power forward Geraldine Robert (183-80, agency: Comsport) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Marielle Amant (190-89, agency: Comsport) chipped in 13 points. Villeneuve D'Ascq's coach Frederic Dusart used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian forward Katherine Plouffe (190-92, college: Marquette) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and Spanish swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) added 17 points respectively for lost side. Four Nantes Reze players scored in double figures. Villeneuve D'Ascq maintains third place with 19-6 record having four points less than leader Lattes Montp. Nantes Reze lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. Villeneuve D'Ascq will face league's leader Lattes Montpellier at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nantes Reze will play against Nice (#5) and hope to win that game.
