Seventh-ranked Lyon (12-13) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Charleville-Mez. (18-8) on Saturday. The visitors from Charleville managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected easier game. Lyon cut a 16-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Charleville-Mez. forced 21 Lyon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Amel Bouderra (160-89) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American center Alicia DeVaughn (193-91, college: Maryland, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import center Latoya Williams (192-87, college: Chipola JC) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Charleville-Mez. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Nice. Lyon at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Charleville-Mez. is looking forward to face Angers (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lyon will play against Hainaut (#10) in Saint-Amand and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
