Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (14-16) edged 11th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (10-20) in Nes Ziyona 87-86 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 20-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American guard Chester Simmons (196-82, college: Washington) who saved his team from a defeat with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Demitrius Conger (198-90, college: St.Bonaventure) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Sundiata Gaines (185-86, college: Georgia) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Welsh Tal Michael Dunne (196-87) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for Ironi Nes-Ziona. Four Ironi Nes-Ziona players scored in double figures. Hapoel Tel-Aviv have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Maccabi Rishon. Loser Ironi Nes-Ziona keeps the eleventh position with 20 games lost.
