Montana 2003 upset Haskovo 2012 on the road in the championship series opener. The game was mostly controlled by Montana 2003. Haskovo 2012 managed to win fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Montana 2003 had a 34-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. American-Trinidad and Tobago forward Kellindra Zackery (184-88, college: Newman, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Montana 2003's coach Stefan Mihaylov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mali forward Meiya Tirera (186-86) answered with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and point guard Katerina Rudeva (166-86) added 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Haskovo 2012.
