Very expected game when 13th ranked Betaland CdO (11-18) lost to third ranked Scandone AV (20-9) in Avellino 69-85 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-69. Scandone AV outrebounded Betaland CdO 48-30 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American-Liberian point guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Grissin Bon RE. Betaland CdO lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Scandone AV will face Umana Venezia (#5) on the road in the next round. Betaland CdO will play against Giorgo Tesi PT (#6) and hope to win that game.
