Regular Season Round 29: O.Lavoro BO - Auxilium TO 73-54

Bottom-ranked O.Lavoro BO managed to get a eleventh victory, breaking the series of three consecutive loses on Sunday night. This time they outleveled fourteenth-ranked Auxilium TO in Bologna 73-54. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 19-point difference proves that O.Lavoro BO was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by O.Lavoro BO. Auxilium TO managed to win second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Auxilium TO to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Auxilium TO 44-28 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international power forward Valerio Mazzola (205-88) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and international Simone Fontecchio (199-95, agency: Players Group) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five O.Lavoro BO players scored in double figures. O.Lavoro BO's coach Giorgio Valli used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American D.J. White (206-86, college: Indiana) came up with 11 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) added 11 points and 4 steals respectively for Auxilium TO in the defeat. O.Lavoro BO (11-18) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with AV Cantu and Betaland CdO. Newly promoted Auxilium TO dropped to the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with JuveCaserta. O.Lavoro BO will meet league's second-placed Grissin Bon RE in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Auxilium TO will play against VL Pesaro (#11) and hope to secure a win.
