Very important is a road loss of second ranked Penarol (31-23) against seventh ranked Argentino (24-30) on Monday night. Visiting Penarol was defeated by Argentino in Junin 80-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Penarol. The game without a history. Argentino led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Argentino outrebounded Penarol 44-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for center Jose Ignacio Alessio (203-87) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) accounted for 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Argentino players scored in double figures. International swingman Nicolas Brussino (200-93) came up with 9 points and 12 rebounds and guard Luciano Massarelli (183-93) added 15 points respectively for Penarol in the defeat. Argentino maintains seventh place with 24-30 record. Penarol at the other side keeps the second position with 23 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
