Bottom-ranked Orchesien BC managed to get a eighth victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Tuesday night. This time they won against seventeenth-ranked Souffelweyersheim in Orchies 71-65. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Souffelweyersheim won third quarter 17-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Steeve Ho You Fat (202-88) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Anthony Smith (195-86, college: Liberty) supported him with 14 points and 4 assists. Even 18 points by naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) did not help to save the game for Souffelweyersheim. American guard Matthew Gibson (195-84) added 12 points. Four Souffelweyersheim players scored in double figures. Souffelweyersheim's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Orchesien BC maintains eighteenth position with 8-22 record. Souffelweyersheim lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth place with 20 games lost. Orchesien BC will meet higher ranked Chorale de Roanne (#16) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Souffelweyersheim will play against SO Maritime Boulogne and hope to secure a win.
