A very interesting game took place in Boulogne-sur-Mer. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 10th ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (15-16) to thirteenth ranked Charleville-Mezieres (14-16) 74-73 on Tuesday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-11. But SO Maritime Boulogne won second period 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American-British point guard Akeem Williams (178-91, college: Mass.-Lowell) who scored 18 points and 4 assists. Anthony Racine (190-94) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Charleville-Mezieres players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Ferdinand Prenom (203-91) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American point guard Austen Rowland (186-81, college: Lehigh, agency: Inception Sports) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively. Charleville-Mezieres maintains thirteenth position with 14-16 record. SO Maritime Boulogne lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Charleville-Mezieres' next round opponent will be higher ranked Nantes (#7) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
