Regular Season Round 26: Guasave - Guaymas 85-84

The most exciting game of round 26 in the CIBACOPA took place in Guasave. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (15-8) to fifth ranked Frayles de Guasave (14-9) 85-84 on Tuesday evening. American Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Jordan Williams (198, college: N.Texas) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. Frayles de Guasave's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Ryan Holmes (198-82, college: Philander Smith) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and international power forward Fernando Benitez (204-89) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Frayles de Guasave moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Culiacan. Ostioneros de Guaymas at the other side dropped to the third position with eight games lost. Frayles de Guasave is again looking forward to face higher ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Ostioneros de Guaymas will have a break next round.
