Regular Season Round 32: Chalon - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 104-96

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (19-13) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Chalon/Saor (21-11) 104-96 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-24. But Pau-Lacq-Orthez won second period 26-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Chalon/Saor won last quarter 32-25. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Center Devin Booker (203-91, college: Clemson) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Lance Harris (195-84, college: Kansas St.) produced 26 points and forward Steven Smith (203-83, college: La Salle) added 24 points respectively for the guests. Five Chalon/Saor and four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor moved-up to third place, which they share with Le Mans. Pau-Lacq-Orthez lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Chalon/Saor will face Gravelines-Dunkerque (#5) on the road in the next round. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against SPO Rouen and hope to win that game.
