Neptunas held off Siauliai in the quarterfinal series opener. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-77. 27 personal fouls committed by Siauliai helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Dave Dudzinski (206-92, college: Holy Cross, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Egyptian forward Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Siauliai. Five Neptunas and four Siauliai players scored in double figures.
