A very close game took place in Galdakao between GDKO Bizkaia and Leganes. GDKO Bizkaia (1-1) got a very close home victory over Leganes (0-2). GDKO Bizkaia managed to escape with a 3-point win 68-65 on Friday evening. Leganes was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American Margaret Roundtree (183-88, college: Gardner-Webb) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Paraguayan guard Claudia Aponte (175-91, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Roundtree is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Paula Justel (186-92) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Celia Menendez (186-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Leganes players scored in double figures. GDKO Bizkaia will meet Alcobendas on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leganes will play against Araski AES and hope to win that game.
