Regular Season Round 7: Perry Lakes H. - East Perth E. 80-44

Date: April 29, 2016
Very expected game when 11th ranked Eagles (1-7) were smashed by second ranked Hawks (6-1) in Floreat 80-44 on Friday. Hawks held Eagles to an opponent 22.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.3 percent accuracy of the winners and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Hawks had a 38-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for the former international guard Deanna Smith (179-80) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws). New Zealand forward Antonia Edmondson (181-87) contributed with 21 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. Forward Jodee Sontay (-85) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Nicole St Jorre (170-82) added 5 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Eagles. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks maintains second place in League with 6-1 record behind leader Rockingham CF. Loser Eagles keep the eleventh position with seven games lost. Hawks will face Tigers (#3) in Willeton in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Eagles will play at home against Cougars (#6) and hope to win that game.
