Regular Season Round 8: Perry Lakes H. - East Perth E. 115-85

Date: April 29, 2016
There was no surprise in Floreat where 12th ranked Eagles (2-7) were crushed by seventh ranked Hawks (5-5) 115-85 on Friday. Hawks outrebounded Eagles 55-36 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hawks made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Matt Sellers (208-91, college: Wyoming) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Swingman Ryan O'Sullivan (194) chipped in 27 points. The former international forward Rhys Vague (203-96) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Thomas Korf (196, college: Minot St.) added 22 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Hawks went down to eighth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Eagles keep the twelfth place with seven games lost. Hawks will face higher ranked Tigers (#5) in Willetton in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Eagles will play at home against the league's leader Cougars (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
