Second Stage Round 2: Araski AES - Alcobendas 68-59

The biggest surprise of round 2 in LF2 took place in Vitoria-Gasteiz where host Araski AES (2-0) beat Alcobendas (1-1) 68-59 on Friday evening. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-59. The best player for the winners was American center Nicole Griffin (198-91, college: Oklahoma) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Arrate Agirre (175-93) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Four Araski AES players scored in double figures. Guard Paula Palomares (174-84) produced 24 points and center Marta Garcia (193-86) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively for the guests. Alcobendas will play next round against strong GDKO Bizkaia trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Araski AES will try to continue on its current victory against Leganes on the road.
