Regular Season Round 85: Sionista - Quimsa 71-75

Very predictable result in Parana where fourth ranked Quimsa (30-25) defeated 10th ranked Sionista (20-35) 75-71 on Friday. Sionista trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 28-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-75 at the end of the game. American guard David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) stepped up and scored 17 points and 4 assists for the winners and Italian center Damian Tintorelli (204-81) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side American power forward Christophe Massie (206-77, college: Memphis) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Italian swingman Juan Ignacio Jasen (196-85) scored 13 points (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Libertad S. and La Union. Sionista lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 35 games lost. Quimsa will face league's leader Olimpico de La Banda on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sionista will play against Atenas (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
