The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Quintanar's (17-8) home victory over 4th ranked Azuqueca (15-10) 74-64 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-64. Quintanar outrebounded Azuqueca 41-21 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Quintanar made 11 blocks. It was a very good performance for Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 7 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Uruguayan-German point guard Phillip Holm (175-80) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. They dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Quintanar will face Gran Canaria (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Azuqueca will play against La Roda and hope to win that game.
