There was no surprise when 4th placed Sabres (5-3) lost to leader Flames (8-0) in Pasadena 60-73 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 27-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Flames outrebounded Sabres 46-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for the former international guard Stephanie Talbot (188-94) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Jessica Good (186-94) contributed with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Jade Johnson (173, college: Arlington Baptist) answered with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Danielle Angley (-95) added 6 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sabres. Flames maintains first place in League with 8-0 record. Loser Sabres dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Flames will face Bearcats (#7) in Woodville in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sabres will play on the road against the league's second-placed Rockets in Adelaide and hope to win that game.
