Regular Season Round 28: UCAM Murcia II - L`Alfas 85-68

EBA round 28 caused change at the leadership position. Thirteenth defeat of league's leader L`Alfas (11-13) against second ranked UCAM Murcia II (12-13) 85-68 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of L`Alfas. It was a key game for the top position in Group E Desc. The game without a history. UCAM Murcia II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. UCAM Murcia II outrebounded L`Alfas 41-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Juan Rubio (196-95) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. American forward Lleon Tillman (198-92, college: W.Alabama) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. UCAM Murcia II's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Alejandro Martin (193-94) replied with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Senegalese center Amadou Coulibaly (206-96) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for L`Alfas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UCAM Murcia II keeps a position of Group E Desc leader. Newly promoted L`Alfas dropped to the second place with 13 games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by San Fernando. L`Alfas will play next round against Sagunto trying to make it back to the top of the standings. UCAM Murcia II will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Benidorm on the road.
