Regular Season Round 7: Suncoast PC - SC Rip 80-55

Everything could happen in Cotton Tree at the game between two tied teams. Both leader Clippers and bottom-ranked SC Rip had identical 0-0 record. This time Clippers used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from 80-55 on Saturday night. Clippers dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to SC Rip's 18. It was a very good performance for American power forward Kierra Mallard (188-90, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds. Emma Menzies contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Clippers players scored in double figures. Forward Kristen Langhorn (179-86) answered with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Francis Donders added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for SC Rip. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Clippers (1-0) left bottom position moving up to fourth place in League. Loser SC Rip still closes the standings with one game lost. Clippers will face Bears (#7) in Bundaberg in the next round. SC Rip will play at home against Capitals and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
