Regular Season Round 8: Rockingham F. - Kalamunda E.S. 114-104

Everything went according to plan in Rockingham where fifth ranked Flames (6-3) won against bottom-ranked Suns (0-9) 114-104 on Saturday. Flames shot 31 for 47 from the free-throw line, while Suns only scored nine points from the stripe. Suns were plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward Cooper Land (205-88, college: Wright St.) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import guard Taylor Land (186-86, college: St.Edward's) chipped in 24 points and 7 assists. Four Flames players scored in double figures. Guard Kerrod Horn (183-93) produced 26 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Brandon McGill (190-89, college: St.Vincent) added 23 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flames moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Suns still closes the standings with nine games lost. Flames will face Magic (#13) in Mandurah in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Suns will play at home against Stirling S. and look forward to get finally their first victory.
