Regular Season Round 28: Igualada - Quart 99-85

There was an upset when higher ranked Quart (10-8) lost on the road to seventh ranked Igualada (8-11) 99-85 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-85. Igualada made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Quart was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for forward Albert Del Hoyo (192-92) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds. Adria Gual (185-93) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Igualada players scored in double figures. Guard Eric Jimenez (190-90) replied with 25 points and 5 rebounds and forward Albert Masllorens (199-90) added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Quart. Quart's coach Marc Delemus rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Newly promoted Igualada maintains seventh position in Group C Titulo with 8-11 record. Loser Quart keeps the third place with eight games lost. Igualada will face Salt (#8) on the road in the next round. Quart will play against the league's second-placed AEC Collblanc (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
