Date: April 30, 2016
Thirteenth-ranked Villarrobledo (7-18) was very close to win a game against first ranked Albacete (21-4) on Saturday. Albacete managed to secure only three-point victory 91-88. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Villarrobledo. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Villarrobledo won third quarter 23-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Albacete won last quarter 27-25. They also forced 19 Villarrobledo turnovers. The winners were led by American guard Jaron Lane (193-90, college: NC-Asheville) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) supported him with 27 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Albacete players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 4 assists by guard Michael Torres (188-95) did not help to save the game for Villarrobledo. Sudanese-American forward Adhar Mayen (203-89, college: Hawaii) added 17 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Albacete have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 21-4 record. Loser Villarrobledo dropped to the twelfth place with 18 games lost.
