There was a small surprise in Gawler where tenth ranked South Adelaide Panthers (1-7) defeated 8th ranked Central District Lions (2-7) 95-85 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by South Adelaide Panthers. Central District Lions was better in third quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. South Adelaide Panthers forced 21 Central District Lions turnovers. Central District Lions were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Madit Daniel who scored 38 points (!!!). Point guard Shane Boal (183-86) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five South Adelaide Panthers players scored in double figures. Guard Nelson Larkins (180-96) produced 22 points and 5 assists and center Daniel Carlin (206-93, college: Westmont) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Central District Lions' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. South Adelaide Panthers maintains tenth position in League with 1-7 record. Loser Central District Lions keep the eighth place with seven games lost. South Adelaide Panthers will face higher ranked Eastern Mavericks (#9) in Mt. Barker in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
