Regular Season Round 8: Lakeside L. - Stirling S. 98-107

Date: April 30, 2016
Rather predictable result in North Lake where sixth ranked Stirling S. (6-4) beat 10th ranked Lightning (4-5) 107-98 on Saturday. Stirling S. made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Lightning was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Kyle Lindbergh (201-91, college: Dordt, agency: Warren Sports International) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Cody Ellis (203-90, college: St.Louis) chipped in 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Lindbergh is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Stirling S.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward T.J. Hallice (206-92, college: Mercer) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Daniel Alexander (206-91, college: Grand Canyon) added 28 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for the hosts. Five Stirling S. and four Lightning players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Stirling S. went down to seventh position (League) due to points difference. Loser Lightning keeps the tenth place with five games lost. Stirling S. will face Suns (#14) in Kalamunda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lightning will play at home against Magic (#13) and hope to win that game.
