Everything could happen in Cotton Tree at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked Maroochydore Clippers and bottom-ranked Sunshine CR had identical 0-0 record. This time Maroochydore Clippers used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from 100-85 on Saturday night. Maroochydore Clippers forced 23 Sunshine CR turnovers. The best player for the winners was naturalized New Zealand guard Zeke Meehl (181-88) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international guard Jorden Page (185-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Lance Hurdle (188-87, college: Miami, FL) produced 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Rory Sutton (200-89) added 27 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Sunshine CR still closes the standings with one game lost. Maroochydore Clippers will face Bundaberg Bulls (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sunshine CR will play against the league's leader Brisbane Capitals and hopes to get finally their first victory.
